Nghe An is located in 180 33′ to 190 25′ of Northern latitude, in 1020 53′ to 1050 46′ Eastern longitude, in focal place of Central Region. Nghe An borders on Thanh Hoa province to the North, Ha Tinh province to the South, Laos PDR to the West with borderline of 419 km long and East Sea to the East with the coastline of 82 km long. This location brings Nghe An into a vital linkage in the North-South socio-economic connection, form and development of marine economy, foreign economic relations and integration in broader international cooperation.

Area : 1,649,903.14 ha

Topography : Nghe An is located in the North East of Truong Son range, terrain variety, complexity and divided by the system of hills, rivers direction tilted from west – to North East – South. Highest peak is the peak Pulaileng (2.711m) in Ky Son district, the lowest plains districts Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh have a place just as high as 0.2 m above sea level (the social Quynh Quynh Luu Thanh district). Hills constitute 83% of natural land area of the province.

Cultural Heritage

The province is divided into one city (Vinh), two towns (Cua Lo and Thai Hoa), and 17 districts. The province contains 437 communes, the highest in any province in Vietnam. Nghe An is the home province of Phan Boi Chau and Ho Chi Minh.
About cultural heritage, there are 872 relics including 112 relics recognized as national relics; 13 provincial relics and many values of intagible cultural values.
About architecture and arts, many famous relics such as Con temple, Qua temple, Bach Ma temple, Hoanh Son communal house, Trung Can temple and Sung temple.. with 19 relics at national level.
Also, Nghe An is home to 474 historical relics including 89 relics as national ranking and 03 types: cultural and historical relics, revolutionary relics ad famous people-honouring relics.

Vi and Giam folk songs of Nghe Tinh occupy an important position in the cultural and spiritual life of people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces (abbreviated as Nghe Tinh). How to get to Nghe An

There are a lot of ways to get to Nghe An Vietnam. You can choose from different means of transportation: plane, bus, train, and motorcycle.

Plane
Traveling by plane is the quickest way to get to Nghe An Vietnam from Hanoi. Flights from Hanoi to Vinh take only 50 minutes. An economy class ticket costs only about 31 USD (or about 720,000 VND).

If you are in Ho Chi Minh City, you can travel to Vinh in about 1 hour and 50 minutes by plane. A one-way trip in economy class costs nearly the same as with a flight from Hanoi.

Bus
Taking the bus from Ha Noi to Nghe An Vietnam is less expensive than flying. A long-distance bus is frequently the most cost-effective means of transportation. However, the travel time is almost 6 hours. The buses leave Hanoi every hour, so it would be easy to catch one.

You can take a bus to Vinh from any bus station: My Dinh, Giap Bat, and Nuoc Ngam. You need to purchase a ticket to get on the bus. The cost ranges from 11 USD to 17 USD (250,000 to 400,000 VND) per ticket.

Train to Nghe An

Some people prefer to travel by train because they can admire the scenery on the way. Ride a train if you are one of them. Furthermore, some tourists prefer trains because they have soft seat cabins and sleep cabins where they can recharge their energy. There are many cabin classes available, with prices ranging from 10 to 20 USD (230,000 to 470,000 VND) for a trip from Hanoi to Vinh. Travel time is roughly 7 hours.

Motorcycle
All backpackers should choose this option because Nghe An has many attractive tourist destinations. You can ride a motorcycle along the route: Thang Long Avenue – Xuan Mai – Ho Chi Minh Road – Thai Hoa – turn left of Highway 48, continue on for 28 kilometers to reach No.1 Yen Ly street. Then turn right onto Highway 1A to get to Vinh city.
