Tuyen Quang Province is located in the northeastern part of the country, at the center of Lo river’s valley. Its capital is Tuyen Quang Township. The province has 718,100 residents and an area of 5,868 km² (3646 mi²). Tuyên Quang borders Ha Giang to the north, Cao Bang to the northeast, Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen to the east, Vinh Phuc to the south, Phuc Tho to the southwest, and Yen Bai to the west”
Tuyen Quang is a mountainous province in the North of Vietnam. It is located between North West and North East of Vietnam, in the latitude of 21o30′ N – 22o40 N and in the longitude of 104o53’E – 105o40’E. It borders Ha Giang in the North, Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen in the East, Yen Bai in the West, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc in the South.

In recent years, the province has achieved an average annual growth rate of over 11%; The economic structure is shifted towards an increase of proportion in industry-construction sector and decrease of proportion in agriculture and forestry sectors. In 2005, ratios for industry-construction, service, and agriculture-forestry sectors were 30.7%, 33.6% and 35.7% respectively.

The province has achieved continuous economic growth. The economic structures, crop and livestock patterns have been step by step shifted towards focusing on commodity-oriented production. Infrastructure system including roads, schools, electricity, telecommunication, etc, has been further invested and developed.

Great efforts have been put in development of education and training, heath care service, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation, job creation and civil evils prevention. People’s living standard has been gradually improved.

The province has also fulfilled the comprehensive planning of socio-economic development to 2020; planning of industry, tourism, traffic, land use planning to 2010, and orientation up to 2020; comprehensive planning of group of Long Binh An industrial – service – urban zones; planning of electricity network development in the period of 2006-2010 in consideration of 2010-2015 period; planning of forestry development; planning of reclassification of 3 forest types; planning of investigation, exploration and usage of available minerals; planning of Tuyen Quang town to 2010, and orientation up to 2020; planning of tourism regions, industrial zones, My Lam hot spring tourism area; planning of health care, culture, gymnastics – sport, telecommunication and post office, broadcast and television, cultural institution system, market system, water supply and rural environment hygiene system, irrigation, aquaculture, and gasoline trading.”
